Main slipped to another away defeat, this time at Arnold Town, eventually going down three-one to stay firmly in the bottom four of the Premier Division.
Michael Baker, Scott Rushton and Danny White were added to the starting line-up with Jovan Maric named on the bench with new signings Ian Hemingway and Nathan McHale.
Town’s Rowan Hines hit a fourth minute shot wide and, at the other end, Main midfielder Michael Baker shot wide after Danny Payne headed down Paul Staniforth’s long throw into the box.
In the seventeenth minute Nick Hall shot well wide of the Main goal. Then, Main defender Danny Reilly headed wide from Carl Thornton’s free kick into the box.
Chris Dickman had a long shot easily saved by Town ‘keeper Lee Broster before, on the half hour  mark, Town’s Ashley Harrison wasted a glorious chance to put the home side ahead when he sliced his shot wide after Main ‘keeper Gerrard Bowtell-Harris dropped Tyiesse Nightingale’s high cross into the box.
Bowtell-Harris made amends with a good save to deny Harrison following Nightingale’s corner and Town striker Craig Mitchell shot over from a good position after being sent clear by Hines’ through ball.
Three minutes before the break Town took the lead when Bowtell-Harris spilled Nightingale’s curling free kick and Tian Walton was first to react, passed the ball across the line to Mitchell, who tapped in at the back post.
Town were close to adding to their lead when Bowtell-Harris saved Mitchell’s shot with his legs. Then Hines had a couple of chances, shooting just wide and then having a powerful shot saved.
Two minutes into the second half things got worse for Main when Baker pulled back Nightingale in the box and Mitchell smashed the ball past Bowtell-Harris from the spot.
This gave Town a lot confidence and they began to dominate.Walton had a shot from the edge of the box saved, Hall shot over, Hines had a close range header saved and Mitchell shot inches over the bar.
With fifteen minutes remaining Main pulled a goal back when Scott Somerville got in behind the Town defence, latched on to a Baker through ball and shot past Broster from inside the box.
Main pushed forward in search of an equaliser. A Carl Thornton header from a Dickman free kick forced Broster into a good save but, nine minutes from the end, Walton sealed the points for Town with a close range goal in a goalmouth scramble following Hall’s corner.
In injury time Danny Reilly was shown a straight red card for a foul on Town’s Nightingale.

Main: Gerrard Bowtell-Harris, Alex Wilson (Nathan McHale 60), Paul Staniforth, Michael Baker, Danny Reilly, Scott Rushton, Danny Payne (Jovan Maric 68), Chris Dickman, Scott Somerville, Carl Thornton, Danny White (Ian Hemingway 78).
