Maltby Main Football Club
Main were looking to build upon their hard fought point away at Selby when they entertained league high flyers Armthorpe Welfare  at Muglet Lane.
Main set about Welfare from the off with Simon Hickey heading just wide of the goal from Paul Lavender’s free kick in the ninth minute.
In the twenty third minute Bruno Holden squandered a great chance to put the visitors ahead when he rose unmarked at the back post but his header went wide.
On the half hour mark Lavender denied Stuart Preston by heading his header off the line following David Buck’s corner.
Main keeper Jamie Bailey showed why he is the best keeper in the league by pulling off a great save to deny Paul Ashton, tipping the winger’s shot round the post for a corner in the thirty first minute.
Main took the lead in the thirty seventh minute when Neil Longhurst headed in off the bar following Simon Hickey’s corner.
Preston fired well wide of the Main goal in the fiftyth minute following James Walker’s short corner and the visitors were on level terms in the sixty fourth minute when Bailey palmed Henry Sibenge’s cross into the path of Preston and he headed in from close range.
Main could have won the game in the ninetieth minute when Greg Mason attempted to chip Jamie Green in the Welfare goal but the keeper managed to get back to collect the ball and Welfare thought they had won the game in the fifth minute of stoppage time when Holden headed in Liam Hardy’s cross from close range but the flag was up for offside.

Main: Jamie Bailey, Paul Lavender, Scott Mellon (James Ellis 83), John Drennan, Jon Wragg, Dave Gleeson, Chris Dickman, Adam Shepherd, Ron Branagan, Neil Longhurst (Greg Mason 73), Simon Hickey.
