Main were hoping to get back on track against Barton Town Old Boys but, despite going in a goal up at the break, the visitors hit back in the second half to steal a 2-1 win.
It was a good start from the Maltby lads, they were just lacking in the final third before a great save after 26 minutes from Ben Brunt kept the game goalless.
Two minutes from the end of the half Ollie Fearon played the ball to Bradley Dockerty who made a great run before passing to top scorer Brian Cushworth who broke the deadlock.
The second half saw Main's good play collapse which wasn't helped with poor decisions by the referee.
It also saw four Maltby players booked.
On the hour mark Ben Brunt pulled off another world class save to keep the score in Maltby's favour but, ten minutes later, Danny Chambers pulled the scores back to level terms after what seemed to be an obvious foul on Ben Brunt.
A short time later captain Nicky Darker was replaced by Joe
Davies for his first game in over a month but he was soon in on the action and was booked for a challenge in the Barton half.
Eighty minutes gone and another poor decision by the referee allowed Brad Ricketts to put Barton into the lead.
With only a short time left Mick Norbury forced three players up front to try and pull a goal back and get the point that Maltby really deserved.
An unlucky afternoon for everyone who was rooting for a Maltby win but that’s the luck you get when you are near the bottom of the table!
