After a good run of results, Main were beaten for the third time in the league at home.
The Premier Division newcomers started the game well, a third minute shot from striker Graham Marchant was saved by Jamie Bailey in the Main goal.
Four minutes later,Town went in front when Marchant forced the ball over the line after Damien Hopkins' shot was blocked following Bailey's punch out from a Joe Swallow corner.
Town midfielder Nathan Cartman shot wide and Marchant headed over from another Swallow corner after Cartman's shot was deflected out.
In the 25th minute, Main drew level when Town defender Simon Wood allowed Bailey's huge throw to bounce and Main's on loan striker Ollie Warren nipped in and shot over 'keeper Ben Proctor.
Swallow had a close range shot saved and, at the other end, Scott Mellon shot just wide with a thirty yard free kick.
On 33 minutes, Main came close to taking the lead when Paul Lavender surged forward but his shot from just outside the box hit the bottom of the right hand upright before, two minutes from the break, Cartman headed just wide for Town from a Marchant cross.

After Marchant had a low shot in 62nd minute, Main again hit the woodwork, as striker Dave Gleeson's shot from the edge of the box came back off the post with Proctor beaten but the danger was cleared away.
Gleeson had a header beaten away by Proctor and Andy Wood forced Proctor into a good stop with a shot from ten yards but, with eight minutes left Town got the winner and took the points back to West Yorkshire, defender Alex Hallam shooting past Bailey from wide on the left.
Main substitute Ben Redfearn went close to an equaliser but his shot at the back post went into the side netting.
