Main got back to winning ways with a three-one victory against a spirited Brodsworth Welfare side thanks to three second half goals after the visitors had led at the interval.
Main had a second minute Scott Somerville free kick saved after Matt Wragg had been fouled on the edge of the box before striker Richard Tracey shot wide on two occasions and defender Dave Shepherd headed inches over the Welfare bar from John Beggs’ cross after Simon Hickey’s free kick was blocked.
In the twenty fifth minute Gavin Cooper hit a free kick from thirty yards out high over the Main bar but, four minutes later, Brodsworth took a shock lead when Andy Sanderson unleashed a thirty yard shot that Main ‘keeper Jamie Bailey got a hand to but could not prevent the ball from entering the net.
With four minutes of the first half remaining, Welfare ‘keeper Mike Stannard had to tip Danny Reilly’s high wind assisted cross over the bar and Gary Hibbert headed wide from Shepherd’s free kick from the left.
Main started the second half strongly with Somerville having a shot saved after Beggs’ shot was blocked and Hibbert headed over from a Beggs corner.
Welfare striker Bryan Craig had a shot saved then, eleven minutes into the half, Main pulled level when Somerville set-up Tracey and his shot from twelve yards beat Stannard.
Somerville had two shots saved as Main pushed forward.
Then, in the sixty fifth minute, Main were awarded a penalty when Tracey was brought down in the box by Cooper and Hibbert smashed the spot kick past Stannard into the middle of the net.
Welfare defender Duncan Milligan forced Bailey into a good save in the seventieth minute with a shot from the left but, with fifteen minutes remaining, Tracey beat the vivitors’ offside trap, latched onto Shepherd’s cross into the box and shot past Stannard from ten yards to seal the victory.
In injury time Welfare substitute Mickey Davies shot just wide from twenty five yards.
