Another home defeat saw Main's run without a win stretch to 14 games and consigned them to the foot of the Premier Division.
Main had a early chance in the 5th minute when fit again Rob Branagan had a shot blocked out and 'keeper Danny Knight had to tip over Scott Mellon's inswinging corner from the right.
Ben Langford shot wide at the back post in the 9th minute following Branagan's cross into the box.
Then, in the 11th minute, 'Sedge took the lead with a own goal, defender Jamie Bowman's attempted clearence from Alex Hallam's shot in the box deflecting past 'keeper Andy Carney.
A minute later James Ellis got in a crucial block to deny James Wasley and Nathan Cartman screwed a shot wide of the Main goal before the visitors took a 2 goal lead in the 32nd minute when Cartman shot past Carney into the bottom corner of the net following Wasley's right wing cross.
Liversedge finished the half with a number of chances.
Carney made a good stop to keep out Hallam's header and Andy Shuttleworth shot just over.
Two minutes before the break,'Sedge were close to a 3rd when Cartman's shot in the box was deflected on to a post.
After a slow start to the 2nd half,Main midfielder Lee Mellon hit a 20 yard effort just over in the 63rd minute but, 2 minutes later, Hallam got 'Sedge's 3rd goal by shooting into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Main striker Oliver Graham hit a shot from 25 yards wide and, at the other end, Cartman had a shot in the box blocked by Jon Wragg from Wasley's cross.
The final action of a drab 2nd half saw Branagan shoot wide from wide on the right.
