Main crashed to a 4th home league defeat, losing 3-1 to Nostell MW.
Three changes were made to the starting line-up with Andy Carney coming in in goal and 3 new signings, Luke Federenko and Ben Spargo up front with Andy Crossland on the bench.
Welfare were soon on the attack with Tom Hope having a 2nd minute weak shot easily saved by Carney.
Then, Jimmy Eyles shot straight at Carney and the big 'keeper pushed an Eyles shot around the post.
After 10 minutes the visitors took the lead when defender Wayne Ball spotted Carney off his line and his wind assisted shot from wide on the left 30 yards out dropped into the top corner of the net.
Welfare increased their lead in the 18th minute when Jake White smashed a free kick from 25 yards high into the net and the visitors continued to press with Eyles having a shot in the box saved
Spargo had a 27th minute shot in the box blocked and James Ellis had a shot from wide on the left saved by Welfare 'Keeper Gavin Ainsley.
At the other end, Matt Wilkinson headed over from Eyles' left wing corner.
Paul Lavender hit a long range effort over before Welfare got a 3rd goal in 38th minute when Eyles cashed in on a mistake by defender Jamie Bowman and shot past Carney in the box.
Then, Spargo had a 40th minute shot deflected wide.
After a slow start to the 2nd half, Welfare striker Graham Marchant shot into the side netting and had a shot pushed out by Carney.
Main midfielder Lee Mellon hit a 20 yard free kick well wide in the 70th minute and Ben Langford saw his low shot in the box saved by Ainsley.
With 6 minutes remaining Welfare were reduced to 10 men when Ainsley was harshly given a straight card after colliding with Federenko in the box and Lee Mellon beat stand-in 'keeper Ball from the spot.
The last action of the match saw Spargo shoot wide and Federenko head over the Welfare bar.
In injury time Welfare  substitute Benji Wjie wasted a glorious chance after being sent clear on goal but he could only shoot straight at Carney.
