Maltby Main Football Club
An injury hit Main side were beaten for the first time in the league since October, going down by the odd goal to Nostell MW.
Main had the best chances of the first 15 minutes.
Chris Wood had a 1st minute free kick saved by Gavin Ainsley in the Welfare goal, Ollie Warren shot over from 20 yards and Scott Whittington shot just wide after being set up by Adam Shepherd.
Then, Warren shot over and put a header from Tom Jones' cross over the Welfare bar.
Main 'keeper Jamie Bailey was called into the action in the 23rd minute, keeping out Jim Eyles' shot from the edge following Franck Zalo's pass.
Welfare striker Ernie Boafo had a close range shot blocked a minute later and, in the 30th minute, the visitors took the lead when they were awarded a free kick wide on the left and Eyles floated it in to the box where defender Richard Britton rose highest and planted the ball into the net.
Main had a couple of late first half chances blocked; a shot from Warren and then an effort from Paul Lavender.
Main again had early chances after the break.
Wood shot wide and Warren headed wide from another Tom Jones cross.
In the 55th minute, Welfare came close to a 2nd goal when Graham Marchant latched onto Boafo's
through ball but his shot was cleared off the line by Greg Mason.
Main had a let off in the 61st minute when Eyles had the ball in the net but flagged offside before Welfare had 'keeper Ainsley to thank for keeping them in the lead with 2 good saves to deny substitute Sam Forster and then blocked a shot from Lavender following neat work from Warren and Forster.
Boafo then wasted a good chance by shooting over right in front of the Main goal.
With 7 minutes remaining, Shepherd was sent clear on goal but the referee pulled play back for a free kick to Main instead of allowing an advantage to take place and, from Lavender's free kick, Ainsley held on to the ball despite pressure from Danny Reilly.
