Maltby Main Football Club
A seven goal thriller saw Main slip to another home defeat, conceding two late goals to high flying Retford United.
The game got off to a good start for Main, with midfielder Mick Jones hitting a 20 yard shot wide after Greg Mason's free kick was only half cleared by the Retford defence and, after United striker Carl Haslam had a shot blocked, Main front man Tom Foyltom-Brown had a header saved by Jason Fisher in the United goal and then headed over, Scott Mellon being the provider on both occasions with left wing crosses.
Then, in the 20th minute, United. took the lead when defender Steve Carty spotted 'keeper Andy Carney off his line and curled a shot from 30 yards out from wide on the left into the top corner of the net.
Main enjoyed a good period of pressure and from 2 Scott Whittington corners Jones headed wide and Mason was off target, also with a headed effort.
Foyltom-Brown hit a 29th minute shot just wide and Mellon saw 2 efforts go wide of the visitors goal before, on 33 minutes, Main got a deserved equaliser when Rob Branagan headed past Fisher from close range after defender Danny Reilly had headed down Whittigton's corner from the right.
The last action of the half saw Foyltom-Brown  get on the end of a Mason cross but his header went just over and Haslam shot over from the edge of the Main box.
United started the second half on the front foot with both Ricky Chambers and Haslam shooting wide before Carney
made a brilliant double save to deny Warren Hatfield and Haslam.
At the other end, Fisher made a good stop to keep out Foylton-Brown, Whittington had a shot deflected out and Mellon shot wide from 25 yards as Main pushed forward, pressure that paid off in the 68th minute when Foyltom-Brown headed in at the back post after Reilly headed on Mellon's corner.
Then things got better when, 5 minutes later Sam Foulds was brought down in the box and Mellon stepped up to score from the spot.
United pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute when Haslam headed in from 8 yards following Hatfield's cross into the box before Foyltom-Brown wasted a great chance by heading over in the box from Whittington's pinpoint cross.
Two minutes later it was all square when Slack shot into the bottom corner after a goalmouth scramble and 2 minutes into time added on Haslam fired a shot past Carney into the far corner from 15 yards to steal the 3 points.
