Maltby Main Football Club
A sixth consecutive league win was achieved with a 1-0 victory against Selby Town in midweek.
Main started the half well with Scott Mellon hitting a free kick just over the Town bar and Charlie Weir had a 15th minute back post header saved by Town 'keeper Paul Fraser.
A minute later, Main 'keeper Andy Coulson made a good save to deny Adam Lee and Paul Ashton shot well wide of Coulson's goal.
The deadlock was broken by Main in the 24th minute when Weir latched onto Greg Mason's pass in the box and slotted the ball past Fraser into the bottom corner of the net.
Then, Main had further chances with Rob Branagan having a shot tipped over the bar and Weir headed wide from Branagan's ball into the box.
Leigh Warriner hit a 43th minute shot wide for Main and former Main midfielder Chris Dickman had a shot deflected wide at the other end.
Town upped their game in the 2nd half and restricted Main to only a few chances.
Ashton had a 47th minute shot deflected out and Dickman was well off target just before the hour mark.
Coulson kept Main in front in the 66th minute, producing a good stop from substitute Ben Redfearn's 25 yard effort.
With 7 minutes remaining Ashton wasted a good chance by shooting over from the edge of the box before Main had good shout for a penalty waved away in the 86th minute when substitute Scott Whittington went down in the box and Paul Lavender headed over from a good position from Whittington's cross from the right.
The last action of the game saw Bruno Holden  shoot wide for Town.
