The good start to the season continued for Main with a 1-1 draw at early pace setters Thackley, but changes had to be made to the starting line up after defenders Gary Middleton and Reece Wesley picked up injuries. In came Scott Mellon and Mick Jones, with new signing from Parkgate, Sean Greaves on the bench.
Both sides had early chances in the opening minutes.
Thackley's Callum White headed wide following Graeme Sides'cross from the right and Main striker Rob Branagan had a couple of efforts with a low shot from the edge of the box and a low shot from wide on the right saved by home 'keeper Matt Convey.
Thackley striker Dean Walters headed wide in the 15th minute and then shot wide after White headed down Tom Higman's high free kick into the box.
White hit a 25 yard shot wide before Main should have been in front when Paul Lavender put Branagan clear on goal put Convey pulled off a great save.
Main 'keeper Jamie Bailey saved a Ben Hardy shot from 20 yards in the 29th minute before, 5 minutes later, Main went in front when Convey conceded a corner from Scott Mellon's free kick. From Scott Whittington's left wing flag kick, Convey dropped the ball at Lee Mellon's feet and after his shot was blocked on the line Jon Wragg slid in to squeeze the loose ball over the line.

Two minutes later, Branagan shot over in the box after Rob Morgan had allowed Shawn Mitchell's ball to bounce.
At the other end Morgan shot wide at the back post from Sides' free kick. The last action of the half saw Whittington shoot over for Main and Walters shoot wide for the home side.
Six minutes after the break, Main striker Hayden Barnett wasted a glorious chance by shooting over from 10 yards after being set up by Scott Mellon.
Bailey easily dealt with a weak Hardy shot and Barnett hit a fierce shot wide of the home goal.
In the 70th minute, Lee Mellon set up Branagan but his shot went straight into Convey's hands.
Thackley pressed for an equaliser with substitute Andy Philp, Morgan and Hardy all shooting wide of the Main goal  but, with 2 minutes remaining, the equaliser came when Hardy beat Bailey from the penalty spot after the 'keeper had fouled defender James Firth in the box.
